Light that listens.
About Emberela
Emberela makes interactive sensory lighting you can touch, dim, and shape to fit the moment. Tap a panel and the color changes. Turn the glow down and the whole room exhales. Every light we make is flicker-free and built around one simple idea: the people in a room should get a say in how that room feels.
We design for neurodivergent kids and adults, for the parents and caregivers building spaces around them, and for the teachers and therapists who set up sensory corners every single day. Our lights aren't decor that happens to glow. They're tools for creating a space that works for the person in it.
Our Story
It started with the overhead light.
Most lighting is designed for a room, not for the person standing in it. Humming fixtures. Harsh blue-white glare. One setting: on. For a lot of people that's background noise. For a sensory-sensitive kid at the end of a long school day, it can be the whole problem.
We kept seeing the same scene play out. Parents rearranging bedrooms at 9 pm, hunting for anything that made wind-down easier. Classrooms improvising calm-down corners out of string lights and blankets. Adults who spent years squinting through fluorescent offices without realizing there was another option.
So we built the light we wished existed. Lights that respond the moment you touch them. Colors you choose, not ones chosen for you. Brightness that goes all the way down. Quiet, cordless, and made to be handled, not just looked at.
Emberela started with one hexagon panel and one question: what if the light in a room answered to the people in it? That question still shapes everything we make, from a HEXlights wall a kid designs themselves to the soft Orblux glow that becomes part of a bedtime routine.
Why It Matters
For kids who experience the world at full volume.
Neurodivergent kids don't need less stimulation. They need the right kind, on their terms. Some are sensory seekers who come alive with color, movement, and something to press. Others need the room turned way down before they can settle in. Most need both, at different moments of the same day.
That's why every Emberela light is adjustable: color, brightness, pattern, and speed. A child can tap to choose. A parent can dim things down for bedtime. A teacher can set a soft, predictable glow for the quiet corner. You're not handing your kid a fix. You're giving them a space they helped build, with a light that shifts when they do.
And the grown-ups? Same principle. Neurodivergent adults deserve a desk, a bedroom, and a home that work with their senses instead of against them.
Build the room. We'll bring the light.
